A website is a window to the world, because of it you find your customers and your customer find you. It is mandatory to maintain and optimize for your customer and YES optimize in the way that your customers are liking it and turning into your business.

Now a days few basic questions come into the mind, Is my website optimized for mobile and tablet devices? have it connected the social media channels? Do I need a phone number so that customer can reach me without any hurdle? These are very common question or mistakes for a website.



If you try to maintain your website yourself, you may face many problems and may be you are wasting your time if you do not have any idea of maintaining the website with customer's prospect, here are some of the mistakes small businesses normally do-

Call to Action

What do you want your visitors to do with your website, If call to action is not there then customer will not know why they are visiting your website and what your company offers or what they need to do next to buy your services.

Poor website design

Small businesses do not spend good amount on design, or they design themselves they do not have a good design sense or may be good skillset, when a visitor see a poor design of the site he just click on "Cross" to go away or go for other website.

Poor Content

Small businesses owner write content for the website there selves because of it a visitor do not understand what website is offering, again it is a time consuming work but a big mistake.

No Metrics

They do not analyze the performance of the site. If you are not tracking  the website, you will never know what improvement should be there to improve and you also can track the progress of the site. There are lots of free tool to track the progress of the site.

Poor SEO

To help potential customers, there must be a good SEO of the site which can help to rank on Google and other search engines to appear on SERPs, or your prospects can find you easily. 30% of websites are not available on Google because of poor SEO.

No Social Media Links

There must be social media links so that your customer can share their experience, can share your products, can see your offers, if you put social media links on the site, your customer can see your social media channel's account easily.

No Mobile Optimization

60% websites are not compatible on mobiles. today, most of the people browsing or visiting the sites on mobile devices, small businesses are missing many customers because of this

No Designated IT Person

Small businesses try to save money and think that there website is secure but there are a good probability for security breaches, every cyber attack costs $8,669.48 (average). So there should  be an IT person who can care of security of the website.
